Ottakara (O decoded for the first time as it is nowhere done so before and none know what O stands for as prefix to Paneerselvam’s name; naturally, mentionaly, New Chief Minister Paneerselvam is mighty thrilled; he befuddledly asked Just In Print : “Neengaa engender, epree O decode panna?” JIP said:”Ada daanaa Just In Print vaisheeshtham”) Paneerselvam, the newest Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Never mind even if he is CM only by default, says mighty thrilled Subramanaim Swamy who effected condemnation of svelte Jayalallitha, her ignominous ouster from CMship, Pannelselvam’s inscription as “CM who vanquished Jayalalitha”. “The way pretty, petite, not-pecuniary, pernicious (Jaya Ram)Jayalalitha in her heydays (curvaceously) twisted, (cuddlingly) twirled, (swiftly) bent, (suggestively) gestured, (invitingly) gesticulated, (voluptuously) ran around tall, hard trees, tightly embraced them, she can resurrect them all over again for the Janta Janardhan now and leave CMship, All Indian Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagham for good.”
Paneerselvam compared to her superciliousness is extremely docile, down-to-earth, decent, cogent, convivial, gregarious unlike his ‘Amma’ who’s not gregarious at all. She understood she not being so has lost her appeal among the masses which was astutely cashed in on by Swamy. Had it not been so, he would not have dared to challenge her. After all, his own credibility in Tamil Nadu is incredulous. He is Iyenger (who are only point some percentage in the state; whats more? Last Known:He’s married to Jyoksna, a Parsee). Yet Swami dared to challenge Jayalalitha and even won the day against her. It should be recalled here that not long ago Swamy was the most ardent supporter of Jayalalitha whom he addressed her in first name. Or, Jaya at times. Never Amma or Madam or Akka or … Now that Swamy has become ‘swamy’ in the state (plethora of Tamilians are adoring him for ridding them of entanglement of Jayalalitha), Tamilians want him to head (See Box) Fort St George opposite Bay of Bengal.
About “unknown’ Ottakara Paneerselvam : He became the chairman of Periakulam municipality in 1996. He won the 2001 assembly elections from Periakulam and become the PWD minister. …On September 27 2014, after the conviction of then chief minister J.Jayalalitha in disproportionate assets case, members of the AIADMK chose O Panneerselvam as the new chief minister of Tamil Nadu.An AIADMK legislature party meeting unanimously elected O Panneerselvam as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Panneerselvam confidently met low profile Governor K Rosaiah in the evening, was sworn in on Monday at 11 am.
The meeting of the AIADMK MLAs was called after Panneerselvam, who held the finance and public works portfolios, and other senior party ministers met Jayalalithaa at the Bangalore Parappana Agrahara prison in the morning.
Clad in a white sari inside Cell No 7402 on Sunday, Jayalalithaa was reportedly visited by six top officers of the state government, including DGP (Intelligence) Ashok Kumar and Special Advisor and former Chief Secretary Sheela Balakrishnan. Sources said senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani may be roped in to fight her case in higher courts.
“He is firm and serious with us, and very loyal to Amma. He deserves it,” said a senior MLA. Many senior leaders pointed out that he had been loyal to Jayalalithaa since the early ‘90s.
In September 2001 too, Panneerselvam was made Chief Minister for a brief period as Jayalalithaa had to step down after the Supreme Court pronounced her guilty of criminal offence.
In political circles, Panneerselvam is known as the reluctant Chief Minister. During his earlier stint in 2001, he chose not to sit in Jayalalithaa’s chair at the Chief Minister’s Office and did not clear crucial files. “He chose a vistor’s chair at Fort St. George (where the state secretariat is housed) when he was appointed as the CM in September 2001 as a stopgap arrangement,” said a former AIADMK minister.
The legislature party meeting already set the tone, as it selected the new Chief Minister without any fanfare. Top leaders and supporters were careful not to indulge in any happy gestures or even the distribution of sweets and garlands. An AIADMK leader said many were nearly in tears when Panneerselvam’s name was announced.
Hailing from Periyakulam near Theni in south Tamil Nadu, Panneerselvam, 63, owned a tea shop and dairy farm before entering active politics in 1996. “He was the first CM from Thevar community. He is a party card holding member since 1972,” said a senior MLA close to him. “After MGR’s death, we were all in the Janaki camp — the faction led by MGR’s wife. Later we joined Jayalalithaa,” he said.

Time for vibrant globally famous “1-Man Demolition Squad” Subramaniam Swamy to stake claim for Tamil Nadu Chief Ministership from now on — now that he’s succeeded in ‘dumping’ Jayalalitha, effected insidious all-level apathy for Karunanidhi-Dravida Munnetra Kazagham, made DMK’s partner (Indian National) Congress-n-Sonia Gandhi infructuous (perhaps incongruous, anachronous as well), zeroed in on all casteist-n-regional parties like PMK, TMK etc. With BJP backing him to the hilt, irreversible, irrepressible, irrevocable Swamy saying to all and sundry that “Vanakkam. Naa Daanaa next Mukhya Mantri. Yenakey support panne.” Not, carefully mind you, pannongo but plain panne. At this, fumes, flusters infuriated Swamy disparagingly saying “choommaa erey. (keep quiet) Naa Iyenger. (I’m Iyenger). Nee Yaarey (You who)? Nee Enna (What’re U) ?” Those listening to him rid themselves off as quickly as he says these superciliously to them.
At the same time they do agree corruptionwise, he’s sans (don’t laugh) defalcations, misappropriations, …as yet compared to Jayalalitha, Chidambaram, Nalini Chidambaram, Ramdoss, Stalin, Vivekananada, Thirunavakarrasu, Thankabalu, rest others from all parties like them.
Swamy, say observers, is upright (no way ‘left’ at all; he was pro-US in the heightened years of Cold War when India, Indians swore by Russia, {now defunct} USSR), duly proud, duly snooty, comfortably nose-up-head-high, able to sucessfully disparage the moment directly or indirectly the very moment required. Tamilians of all hues unabashedly claim, Swamy is now urgently required in Tamil Nadu as its Chief Minister for the state’s all round development/s, upgradation, higher status, Tamilian of all Tamil masses as only he’s capable, able in resurrection of Old Glory (now extinct) of Dravida Legacy in the state reminiscent of bygone Madras Residency.
